The Constitution of India

A picture of the Original Preamble

Did you know that there are two original copies of the Indian constitution, one each in Hindi and English. These original copies, which are kept in a special helium-filled case in the Library of the Parliament of India, are handwritten and calligraphed, and not typeset or printed.

There were also 1,000 photolithographic versions published by the government of India, copies of which have become rare and less available with every passing year. But you can still download the pdf version of the photolithographic reproduction of the Constitution from the World Digital Library.
